It was deep agony for Mrs Salomi Omomoh, a mother of six, as she laments the brutal killing of her first son, who she described as her only hope. Tears flow freely from the eyes of Mrs Omomoh and these tears seem unending as her husband, Mr Christopher Omomoh, had also been killed by the alleged killers of her son. The news of her husband's death was yet to be broken to her at press time.

Tears flow freely from the eyes of Mrs Omomoh and these tears seem unending as her husband, Mr Christopher Omomoh, had also been killed by the alleged killers of her son. The news of her husband's death was yet to be broken to her at press time.
The son, John Omomoh, a 19-year-old senior secondary school one (SSS1) student of Majidun Grammar School, Ikorodu, Lagos was allegedly killed by members of a vigilance group in the area.
She cried: 'He is my hope. Where is my hope? Why did they have to kill him? Why God? Why?"
'My son was hardworking. He was not lazy. We depended on our menial jobs. He goes to the river to drill sand. He would paddle canoe to cut wood. He is our bread winner," Salomi cried.
Witnesses told Daily Sun that John Omomoh was allegedly beaten to death by members of the vigilance group when he tried to make enquiries about his father, who was being held captive by the group.
Daily Sun gathered that when John got to the Ogolonto tipper garage, where his father was held captive and bound leg and arm, his emotion betrayed him and he tried to explain to the vigilance group that his father was not a thief. His explanation fell on deaf ears and his continued insistence was met with resounding deafening slaps.
John, witnesses said, was handed out what many described as 'killer slaps" and he fell, but quickly got up and was pushed out of the garage by the vigilantes.
He was beaten on Monday, but till he died at 5a.m. the next day, he was still feeling the pains, family sources told Daily Sun.
'The pain was so severe for him, that even when he came to school to write his examination, he complained to us that they slapped him and he was still feeling the pain," John's school mates told Daily Sun.
It was gathered that John Omomoh was allegedly slapped with charm by members of the vigilance group, which made the pains to continue unabated and eventually led to his death.
The vigilance group members, who were located at the Ogolonto Tipper garage in the Ikorodu area, where the incident occurred, had refused to comment on the killing end most of them had bolted from the area.
It was gathered that when John died and the news of his death filtered into his school, the students went wild, destroying vehicles and torching structures within the garage.
John's mother, who had wet her bed with tears, cursed those who killed her son. She said: 'As they killed my son, so will they die too. As I am crying now so shall their families cry for the death of their own children."
'He who believed in killing other people's children, his own must be killed also. God should fight for me, God should revenge his death, let their own pillar die too."
She said her husband was returning from an engagement which ended late on Sunday, when he was apprehended by the vigilantes.
His explanation that he was returning from an engagement and that he was not a thief, did not go down well with the group, who bound him leg and arms and hung a tyre on his neck till the next morning.
Daily Sun learnt that he was beaten to pulp and later died in an undisclosed hospital in Ikorodu.
The police had moved in to save the situation but have been arresting sympathizers rather than the alleged killers.
